It is a truly tranquil spot yet it is only 3 miles from the popular market town of Ross-on-Wye and the west end of the M50.
The location of Herefordshire and the Wye Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are many local attractions and activities near the cottage which makes a perfect base from which to tour the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Symonds Yat, the Welsh Borders, Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire.
For self-catering with character in a splendid period property, this is the perfect holiday home, equally suited to two couples or to a family with older children. The area boasts plenty of activities and sightseeing: food-lovers will adore the area's reputation for gourmet foods, including the Abergavenny food festival. The Wye and Usk rivers pass through gorgeous scenery providing the opportunity for many water-based activities including kayaking, fishing for salmon or boat cruises. There are fabulous cycle routes, bridle paths and trails. For a walking holiday, this holiday apartment perfectly situated, close to Offa's Dyke and the gateway into the Forest of Dean. This unspoiled part of England is a haven for wildlife - keep your eyes peeled for the peregrine falcon. Or admire the view from the many pretty pubs and restaurants where you can revive yourself with a cream tea or a pub lunch! Within easy reach are the bustling towns of Monmouth, Abergavenny, Newport, or Chepstow where you can enjoy a day at the races.
Ross-on-Wye is conveniently situated at the end of the M50, surprisingly close to London, (approx 2.5 hours). Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff are all approx 1 hour. This self-catering house is a real escape, without a lengthy drive. And the owners also have a small self-catering studio available, suitable for couples.

Accommodation:
This period manor house, a former seat of the Viscounts Scudamore, has been carefully renovated to its former glory. The large, elegant, completely self-contained house with a lovely view of the garden sleeps 8 in two comfortable double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms.
The house has its own entrance, which leads into the accommodation beautifully presented with antique furnishings. In the lounge, the comfortable sofas and open fireplace with log fire, make this a delightful place to curl up with a good book. The outside world is still within reach as the flat is fully equipped with broadband internet, TV and stereo. The fully-fitted kitchen is well-equipped for preparing a delicious supper following a day of sightseeing - there is an Aga, electric hob and microwave. All modern conveniences are included, with washing machine, drier and dishwasher. The owners also provide a welcome pack of bread, milk, a few essentials and some logs for the fire.
The bedrooms are comfortably furnished and bed linen and towels are provided. The 2 doubles are equipped with ensuite bathrooms and the house also has an additional cloakroom/shower room plus a family bathroom, meaning there are plent of facilities for a group or large family. Please be advised, however, that the property is not suitable for very small children. Pets are not allowed.
The house is situated in beautiful grounds, and after a day walking, fishing, canoeing or sightseeing you can enjoy a drink, have a barbecue, and immerse yourself in the history of this stunning Herefordshire manor house. The owner also has a cosy self-catering studio flat suitable for couples.

Directions
Caradoc Court is situated just 3 miles from the bustling market town of Ross-on-Wye. From junction 4 of the M50 take the A40 signposted for South Wales, Monmouth and Hereford. At the second roundabout turn right on the A49 to Hereford. After half a mile turn right for Sellack, Hoarwithy and King's Caple. Follow this road for 2 miles until reaching the Lough Pool Inn. The entrance pillars to the Caradoc Court drive are some 50 yards further on the right.
Change over day is Saturday - but this is flexible, low season - please let the owner know your requirements. Short breaks in low season are subject to avaiability, please enquire.
