Thornbridge Manor is situated on the edge of the unspoilt village of Great Longstone, located next to the Monsal Trail. This luxury holiday let is a stunning country manor house in the heart of the Peak District close to Monsal Dale, Bakewell, Chatsworth and Ashford in the Water.

This is a perfect location for walkers, cyclists and families or groups of friends requiring an ideal base for exploring, relaxing and enjoying the attractions of the Peak Park.

A must see when you’re staying at Thornbridge Manor is Chatsworth House, the home of the Dukes of Devonshire, which is one of the Peak District's premier tourist attractions.

There are many other National Trust properties that you can visit including Sudbury Hall the interior of which was used in the BBC's Pride and Prejudice and is home to one of the grandest long galleries and staircases in England. Also close by is Hardwick Hall, a spectacular Tudor treasure house originally built for 'Bess of Hardwick', Elizabethan England's second most powerful and wealthy woman

For those looking for adventure, don’t forget that Alton Towers is one of the country's foremost theme parks is situated on the southern edge of the Peak District so well worth a visit for both adults and children alike.

Closer to home though you have extensive gardens at the Manor with a children’s play area, a tennis court and a croquet lawn so you may find you don’t need to venture too far!

Accommodation

Thornbridge Manor is a luxury manor house that has been finished to an extremely high standard. The owners have used top quality fixtures, fittings and furnishings. The property sleeps up to 27 people and provides an idyllic location for large parties.

On the ground floor, there is a beautiful large open plan kitchen dining room which will comfortably accommodate up to 27. The stunning kitchen is really well equipped with everything that you would need to enjoy a self-catering holiday including a dishwasher, cooker and microwave. There is a washing machine and dryer to make your holiday as easy as possible. The spacious sitting room has comfortable sofas and chairs and the benefit of a log burning stove creating a warm and welcoming room. This self-catering property comes fully equipped with a TV (with Sky TV) and video, DVD player and radio. In addition, the inner hall can be used as a further sitting room. There are 2 bedrooms situated on the ground floor, one that can sleep from 2 to 5 as it has a double/twin bed with single bed and double sofa bed in the bay window with log burning stove. The other bedroom on this floor can either be made up as a double or twin. There are two bathrooms downstairs, one with shower enclosure and the other with a bath and shower over. There is disabled access to the property.

A sweeping dog leg stair case leads to the first floor where you will find five further bedrooms. One of these can accommodate between two to six as it has a king size double bed with two further singles beds and double sized sofa bed in the bay window. One other bedroom sleeps two and can be made up as either a double or twin bed. The three remaining bedrooms can all sleep either two or four in a variety of combinations with two of those having double/twin beds and a set of bunk beds. The other bedroom has either two double beds or four singles. There are also 2 bathrooms on this floor that have shower enclosures and baths.

The gardens are beautifully laid out and for families there is the added benefit of a children's play area, tennis court and a croquet lawn. You may never want to leave Thornbridge Manor!

What’s Included

Logs for the fires and wood burner are provided as is electricity, bed linen and towels. Check in is normally after 3pm and the owners request that you check out by 10am. Short breaks sometimes available, please enquire.
