The Hen House
Teme Valley, Worcester

The Hen House is situated in a peaceful, rural location amidst nearly 9 acres of private garden, orchard and meadowland. Part of a 17th Century farmstead, this romantic self-catering cottage nestles in the Teme Valley on the Worcester, Shropshire and Herefordshire borders, a little-known part of England shaped into undulating hills, hop fields and magical woodland. This one-bedroom cottage is opposite the owner's farmhouse but with a garden and wisteria-clad pergola providing privacy, makes a cosy retreat for a couple on honeymoon or private getaway. The owners have 2 dogs, 2 donkeys, 3 sheep and many cats and well-behaved dogs are welcome, as long as they are cat-friendly!

Brook Farm is located in the Marches countryside, a wooded paradise and walkers' haven. The surrounding hills, forests and villages offer a huge range of activities - horseriding amongst the forest paths and bridleways, off-road biking, cycling through country lanes, and boat trips and fishing in the rivers. The area's historic towns and villages ooze character and there are plenty of castles, stately homes and monuments to visit: Worcester's magnificent Cathedral and working canals, Herefordshire's fairytale Eastnor Castle situated spectacularly in the Malvern Hills, or browse Ludlow's antique shops and historic centre, little changed since mediaeval times. There are no shortage of intimate places to eat out - the area is a foodie's paradise. Ludlow is renowned for some of the highest quality restaurants in the country, and most of the surrounding towns and villages boast historic inns and restaurants, serving delicious local produce. There is so much to see in the heart of England and this lovely little cottage is convenient for exploring it all.

When you're done exploring, pamper yourself by booking a manicure, pedicure or aromatherapy massage through the owners of the Hen House. They will also supply catering on request - for £35, a 3 course meal for 2 can get your holiday off to a relaxing start. Or if you prefer to cook yourself, help yourself to the produce from the kitchen garden - vegetables and salad don't come much fresher!

For the ideal romantic getaway, pampering break, or honeymoon, escape to this beautiful little place in the country, pet-friendly, self-catering cottage in the Heart of England.
