Extra Amenities

Located in Chapel Street, just a short stroll from the sea front and harbour, guests can walk to a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, art galleries and individual shops. The property appeals to families, couples and friends looking for a comfortable base from which to explore the coastal treasures of west Cornwall. It is conveniently located for guests arriving by train as the station is just minutes away.
This historic town house sits at the seaward end of Chapel Street. It has been lovingly restored, and there are glimpses of the sea and harbour from different levels and rooms of the house. It has a period open fireplace, an original Cornish granite frontage and wooden sash windows, but has been renovated and furnished with up-to-date luxuries including a Sonos music system. Underfloor heating and an open fire makes a snug, romantic shelter from the spectacular storms and seas that batter the promenade during the winter months.

This smart town house is perfect in spring and stunning in summer, with the art deco Jubilee Pool, just a minute’s walk from the front door. This triangular, open-air lido, filled with seawater, is an iconic feature of Penzance. Penzance is a sunny, bohemian coastal town, full of ancient nooks and crannies, old buildings and quirky streets. Nowhere is its character more vividly felt than on the town’s oldest street – the winding and atmospheric Chapel Street, which meanders down to the sea. The street is now lined with independent boutiques, antique shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs, all occupying centuries-old properties. Venture a few doors up to the one-time smugglers’ haunt, The Turk’s Head pub, one of the oldest pubs in Cornwall. Penzance looks out towards Mounts Bay and St Michael’s Mount, proudly perched on its rocky outcrop. It is open to the public and can be reached on foot via the causeway at low tide or by small ferry boat at high tide.

The promenade will lead you to the working fishing harbour at Newlyn, home of the famous Newlyn School of Art and Art Gallery. Continue along the coastal road to Mousehole, a quaint Cornish harbour and village with a small beach, harbour front restaurant, pub, arts and crafts shops, and tales of the famous Mousehole cat! Mousehole is great at Christmas and New Year with visitors flocking in to see the famous Christmas lights. The delights of west Cornwall include beautiful Lamorna Cove, Lands End, the sandy surfing cove of Sennen, and the romantic open air Minack Theatre, cut into the cliff face with the ocean as a back drop. There are many hidden coves and coastal paths, wildlife, bird marshes and daily trips to the beautiful Isles of Scilly. Beach ½ mile. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurants 500 yards
