Rooky's Nook is ideally situated to take advantage of the stunning North Cornwall coastline with its fantastic beaches and lovely villages. Tintagel, home of the King Arthur legend, the pictureseque green slopes of Boscastle, and the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac are all within a 5 mile radius.

This is the ideal cottage for a cycling holiday - slightly south of Rooky's Nook is the Camel Estuary and the Camel Trail, a 17 mile cycle track which passes the villages of Rock, Padstow, and the beautiful sandy beach at Daymer Bay.

Other delights of this magnificent Cornish coast can be found in places like Polzeath, Newquay and Bude where the rolling Atlantic breakers offer exhilarating year-round surfing. Alternatively head inland onto Bodmin Moor and discover some of its archaeological heritage and mining history. Rough Tor, one of its highest points, was worshipped by 18th century druids as a 'rock idol'.

If you're interested in Cornwall's historic houses, then Lanhydrock, Tintagel Castle and Pencarrow, plus many other National Trust treasures are all easily reached by car.

For golfers, Bowood, St Kew, St Enodoc, Roserrow and Trevose are all challenging 18 hole championship golf courses. Or come and visit some of the wonderful Gardens of Cornwall, including the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan - which are just a 40-minute drive away.

Rooky's Nook offers you the ideal luxury holiday cottage from which to do as much or as little as you fancy and, for newly-weds, there really is no better destination for a honeymoon!

Accommodation

Rooky's Nook offers luxury holiday accommodation for two in a beautiful former blacksmith's barn. Tucked down a quiet country lane in the heart of Trewalder, a small rural hamlet near the magnificent North Cornwall coastline, no expense has been spared to create a home-from-home luxury hideaway for discerning couples (non-smokers only).

The cosy sitting-dining room with open fire offers an ideal place to relax and unwind. There's a Digital Flatscreen TV so you can enjoy an evening watching your favourite programs. The cottage has been sympathetically refurbished with rough cast walls, slate floors and a huge inglenook fireplace providing the perfect romantic retreat whilst on holiday in Cornwall. It is centrally heated throughout, making it snug in the cooler months.

In the kitchen, lime-washed oak units make cooking a pleasure - the large fridge-freezer gives you the option of minimising your shopping trips, while the dishwasher takes away the strain of washing-up!

From the kitchen, a stable door leads to the private sunny patio and garden, the perfect place to chill out with a drink! Garden furniture and a barbeque are provided for dining alfresco. A small utility room with washing machine and tumble drier also has an additional WC for your convenience.

The galleried spacious double bedroom with its large five-foot double bed is the ideal place to snuggle up. Feeling really lazy? - you also have the option to watch Digital Flatscreen TV in bed! Even though banisters run down one side of the room by the open-plan stairs, you still have all the privacy you need in your own little Cornish holiday cottage hideaway. There is an exceptionally large en-suite bathroom with double ended bath and separate shower cubicle, wash basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Wireless Broadband has also been installed, so you can lose yourself in idyllic Cornwall without losing touch!

Directions

Follow the A30 towards Launceston. After by-passing Launceston, at Kennards House, take the A395 signed for North Cornwall and Camelford. Follow this road approximately 15 miles until reaching a T-junction with the A39. Turn left onto the A39 towards Camelford and Wadebridge and continue a short distance until seeing the exit for the B3314 to Delabole and Port Isaac. Turn right onto the B3314.

At this staggered crossroads continue straight over, and pass through Delabole. Turn left onto the B3267 signed for St Teath. Take the next left, a short distance down the lane, marked by a wooden bench on the corner. Carry on, passing under a railway bridge, until reaching Newhall Green. Go through the village and you will see another sign for Trewalder.

What's included

Heating, electricity and an initial basket of logs for the fire are all included in the rental price. All bed linen and towels are provided. Dogs welcome by prior arrangement for a fee of £25/booking. Rooky's Nook has ample parking space for 2 cars.

Change over day is Friday, and guests are asked to check out by 10am, and check in after 3pm.
