Robin Hoods Bay (located approximately 5 miles from Whitby) is an ancient seaside hamlet nestled precariously between fossil laden cliffs and steeped in tales of smuggling and contraband! This lovely hamlet has great pubs, restaurants and charming shops, together with a beach with lots of rock-pools for children to explore. There are excellent coastal walks, and for the more energetic Robin Hoods Bay is situated on the Coast to Coast walk.
The area is a wonderful place for a holiday with a wide variety of activities and attractions on offer. Enjoy the seaside and hunt for fossils or perhaps have a donkey ride along the beach at low tide. There are great walks nearby and you could walk a section of the Cleveland Way National Trail. Alternatively you could hire a bicycle from “Trailways Cycle Hire” and ride on the old railway line for miles. If you fancy a four legged ride then pony trekking is available from Farsyde Riding Centre.
Visit the National Trust’s Old Coastguard Station Visitor Centre at the bottom of Robin Hoods Bay or the Fylingdales Museum and Library Trust to see the local geology exhibits, local history and much more. Whitby and its famous Abbey are only 5 miles away and a day trip to Scarborough is great favourite with the family.

Coastal walks and cycle routes at the bottom of the garden. Robin Hoods Bay is an historical bay and very interesting to visit, children especially like to fossil hunt on the beach.
Accommodation:
Pebble Cottage is a characterful cottage with rustic beams, original panelling, stone mullion windows and captivating sea views. The interior is newly refurbished to create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort.
On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen/dining room and living room. The kitchen has cream shaker units fitted with granite work tops, integrated appliances and views to the sea. The dining area seats 4 and the living area has a wood burning stove and plasma TV with integrated DVD. Also downstairs is a WC with hand basin. The first floor has a double bedroom with luxurious en suite bathroom with roll top bath and a twin bedroom with en suite shower room.
Outside there is a children's play area with trampoline and swings.
What's included:
Heating and logs for the stove are included in the rental price. All bed linen and towels are provided.
Pebble Cottage is perfect for families; cot and high chairs are available and the playground will keep them occupied, giving parents much needed time off!
Directions:
From the south: Follow the M1, A1 (M), A1, A64 (Scarborough)then A171 (towards Whitby). After approximately 12 miles turn right - signposted Fylingthorpe and Robin Hoods Bay. Go over the brow of the hill (great view!).
Follow this road down the steep hill through Fylingthorpe (past the butchers and Post Office), past the Fylingdales Pub, in 100 metres the road with turn sharply right and Pebble Cottage is located on the right hand side after 50 metres.
Change over day is Saturday.
Check in after 4pm, check out at 10am.
