Extra Amenities

Tucked away in the popular Broadland village of Lingwood, this lovely, spacious detached bungalow offers home from home comforts and a private large garden perfect for playing and al fresco eating. It is a short stroll to the village shop and there are two pubs serving good food and very poplar fish and chip shop all within walking distance. A short walk to the train station serving the local villages, the city of Norwich and seaside town of Great Yarmouth. Be sure to bring your walking boots; there are miles of footpaths and bridle ways to explore.
Neighbouring village of Strumpshaw is home to RSPB nature reserve, horse riding stables and their steam museum with steam rally held during the month of May (please check for re-opening). The village of Brundall, situated alongside the River Yare offers daily boat hire, kayaking, canoeing, coarse fishing as well as many more amenities. Being gateway to the famous Norfolk Broads, having miles and miles of waterways to explore and plenty of riverside eateries.

The fantastic sandy beaches all within 20 minutes’ drive these include Great Yarmouth, Caister-on-Sea, Winterton-on-Sea, Horsey and Sea Palling. The traditional and lively seaside resort of Great Yarmouth, 12 miles, has fun fairs, pitch and putt, amusements, wax works, a Sea Life Centre, theatre, pier, promenade and a town centre with shops, pubs and train station. Fishing enthusiasts will be delighted with plenty of fishing lakes and spots to be found alongside the River Yare to enjoy. Golf courses found at Blofield and Sprowston.
The city of Norwich, 11 miles, has a theatre, castle museum, cathedral, art galleries, market square, two indoor shopping malls, restaurants and cafés. Wroxham, 8. 5 miles, known as the ‘capital of the Norfolk Broads’ boasts riverside restaurants, shops, a miniature model village, steam narrow gauge railway and a train station for further exploration. National Trust stately homes, parks and gardens are all within the surrounding area, including Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Oxburgh Hall, Sheringham Gardens and Houghton Hall.

Under one hour’s drive to explore the North Norfolk coastline; with seaside resorts of Cromer, 31 miles, with a pier and promenade, lighthouse and a clifftop golf course, and Sheringham, 35 miles, with the RNLI working lifeboat museum and headquarters of the North Norfolk Steam Railway.
The Georgian market town of Holt is 33 miles away and Blakeney Quay is 38 miles. Other places of interest include The Royal Sandringham Estate and Gardens, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, Pettitts Animal Adventure Park, the Dinosaur Adventure Park at Lenwade and Pensthorpe Natural Park. During the months of November to February why not visit the National Trust’s Horsey Gap, 15 miles, where you can walk on the sand dunes and see the many seals and their pups on the beach.
