Situated in the heart of Suffolk, there are many picturesque towns and villages within easy driving distance, including the town of Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket, Diss and Eye. There is also the charming town of Woodbridge, also within a short drive away, with fine restaurants, museums, a picturesque harbour and boat trips.
Lovers of history will want to explore National Trust property Sutton Hoo, and Framlingham Castle.
Birdwatchers and walking enthusiasts can head to RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Forest and Heath, both around 21 miles away. Snape Maltings concert hall and shopping village is well worth a visit, and at the sophisticated little seaside town of Aldeburgh fish and chips are a must. Thorpeness is the setting for the famous ’House in the Clouds’ folly and also offers a boating mere. Golf and fishing are found close by. Beach 23 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
