Poet’s Corner is the perfect retreat for those looking for lots of independent places to eat, drink and shop right on the doorstep, while still being close to the stunning Norfolk coastline.
One of the most historic properties in town, it has been lovingly restored to retain lots of original features and charm, while still providing all the comforts a modern guest needs for a great holiday. The lovely, stylish sitting room is beamed throughout and boasts a lovely wood burner. There is also a dining room with a door which opens on to a small terrace, offering really great indoor and outdoor dining options.
There is provision for two parking spaces just across the road, an absolute rarity in this location.
For laid back days pottering and enjoying great food, you really do not need to venture any further than your feet will carry you, because this is a town that is simply packed with artisan and boutique shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. It is perfect for year-round breaks and locals will tell you that many take the time to visit coming up to Christmas when the town is lit with twinkling white lights. Or they will head to nearby Thursford to enjoy the famous Christmas Spectacular or Santa’s Magical Journey.
Venture a little further and you will find yourself at the coast in around ten minutes. Enjoy a spot of crabbing on picturesque Blakeney Quay, or maybe some sunbathing or a bracing walk on Weybourne or Sheringham beaches, or take a stroll on Cromer pier as all are in easy reach.
If you are keen to see all the highlights of Norfolk, the Broads are in easy reach too. For a complete change of pace, you can visit the fine city of Norwich, which makes a regular appearance on best UK city breaks list. Add in the Blickling, Felbrigg, Holkham and Sandringham Estates, RSPB Cley Marshes, North Norfolk and Bure Valley Railways, Sheringham Park and Pensthopre Nature Reserve, Amazonia Zoo, numerous golf courses and maybe even a day at Fakenham Races and you will soon discover why this part of Norfolk is so very popular.
What a treat to return to Poets Corner and relax by the wood burner or enjoy a glass on something in the courtyar
