Just footsteps away from a celebrated foodie pub you will find much to enjoy about the pretty village of Itteringham itself including a quirky community shop that sells not only the essentials but lots of local treats too. Venture a little further and you can be at the stunning North Norfolk coastline in just 20 minutes.
Visit Sheringham with its lovely beach or Cromer with its wide coastline and famous pier. Or head to Blakeney Quay for a spot of crabbing, a must that is fun for all the family. The perfect choice for those wishing to explore both the coast and the Norfolk Broads, you can also be in the heart of this national park in under 30 minutes. And, you can even take the scenic route with the quaint Bure Valley Railway taking you across open countryside from nearby Aylsham to Wroxham. Railway lovers will also enjoy a trip on North Norfolk Railway, with steam trains chugging along the coast. And with Blickling Hall almost on your doorstep, history buffs will enjoy a trip around this estate and, a little further afield, the Holkham and Sandringham ones too.
But do make time for a trip to the medieval city of Norwich which is just over half an hour away. Here you will find a splendid Norman castle, numerous museums, galleries and theatres and great places to eat, drink and shop. In fact, Norfolk enjoys lots of really good places to dine, many of which serve locally sourced seasonal produce. Add in attractions such as BeWILDerwood, Amazonia Zoo, Sheringham Park, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, Cley Marshes, the Muckleburgh and Thursford Collections and a host of picturesque walks and cycle routes and you will soon see why this part of Norfolk is so popular. And then to return to Tiffin Cottage. Simply blissful! Beach 9 miles. Shop 50 yards, pub/restaurant 100 yards.
