Extra Amenities

Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, within a short walking distance of the shingle beach and sea, this tastefully renovated holiday barn is set within a cluster of cottages, beautifully converted from a range of old brick and flint barns, on a quiet cul-de-sac. Sailing, watersports, and a wealth of good walking and cycling opportunities can be enjoyed moments from the doorstep, including Peddars Way and the North Norfolk Coastal Path. North Norfolk forms part of the largest coastal nature reserve in England with bitterns, terns, oystercatchers, avocets and marsh harriers, making it a prime site for bird watching.
The seaside resorts of Sheringham, 3 miles, and Cromer, 7 miles, have excellent sandy beaches, shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Sheringham is home to the Poppy Line steam railway, Splash Leisure and Fitness Centre, a local market, and a small theatre.

Cromer has a promenade, pier and end of the pier theatre hosting live entertainment throughout the year. Thursford’s amazing Christmas show is a mere 15 minutes by car. The charming Georgian town of Holt is 4 miles away with shops, artist studios, restaurants and cafés. Enjoy wildlife in its natural surroundings whilst taking a drive along the coast to the nearby bird reserves at Cley next the Sea, Morston and Blakeney, where boat trips are also available to National Trust’s Blakeney Point – to view seals and birdlife. Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Estate, Sheringham Park (also National Trust), and Houghton Hall are other places of great interest. The Royal Sandringham Estate, 33 miles away, is open to the public when members of the Royal family are not in residence.

There are three excellent golf courses and fishing nearby, with sea fishing from Weybourne beach, where you can catch species common to the area including flatfish, bass, cod, codling and whiting, according to season. Weybourne boasts its own vintage railway station on the Poppy Line steam railway, and close by is an equestrian centre for horse riding across the scenic heath. The Muckleburgh Collection, a museum with military vehicles and aircraft on display, is ½ mile away. For the younger family members, Weybourne children’s playground and play park with slides, swings, a mini-football field and picnic areas, makes for a fun day out. Weybourne Green Bowls Club welcomes players. Beach ½ mile. Shop 180 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
