The sleepy village of Hainford has a thriving public house which is loved by locals for its great food, but venture a little further and you will find much to see and do.
Close by lies the beautiful Norfolk Broads. Head to Wroxham and join a cruise or charter a day boat. You can choose to arrive by car or you can take a short drive to the bustling market town of Aylsham.
Here you can hop on the Bure Valley Railway and take the narrow gauge train across the pretty North Norfolk countryside. Coast lovers can be in Cromer in around half an hour where you will find an end of pier show set on the marvellous and much photographed pier. There are also lots of great shops, restaurants, cafés, bars, a cinema and zoo.
The coastline is just littered with great beaches, pretty seaside towns and villages so why not come along and enjoy the sea air. Closer still lies the Blickling Hall Estate, former home to Anne Boleyn and now one of the many National Trust properties and stately homes to be found in Norfolk.
For a change of pace, take the Park and Ride and head in to the medieval city of Norwich with its splendid Norman castle and numerous museums, galleries and attractions. Visit by day and explore the lanes for boutique shopping and places to eat, or visit by night to experience the vibrant nightlife. And after a day or evening of fun, a good night’s sleep can be guaranteed at Pinewood Cottage. Beach 16 miles. Shop 3¼ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
