A fabulous, spacious two bedroomed cottage, set within the owners’ grounds, on a quiet lane in the popular Northamptonshire village of Spratton. The large open plan living and dining space flows through to the kitchen and French doors lead on to the terrace. The cottage has been tastefully decorated and furnished to provide a comfortable home away from home with high quality features. Why not sit outside and relax on the lovely terrace during the warmer weather? The master bedroom contains a luxurious slipper bath, and the shower room has a rain head shower. Perfect for couples, friends and small families, this versatile accommodation is the ideal self catering cottage.
Within the village, there is a general store, a fabulous butcher’s shop which is very well known in the area, and a great village pub, serving delicious food, all within a couple of minutes’ walk from Apple Tree Cottage.
It’s ideally situated for many attractions, activities and popular market towns. Locally, there are several stately homes and gardens, and there is no shortage of golf courses and water sports opportunities either. Within a few miles, you have the choice of three great golf courses and water sports at Pitsford Reservoir, including sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing. You can also enjoy lovely walks or cycle rides around the perimeter (approximately 7 miles) whatever the time of year. Bikes are available for hire, and there is a children’s play areas as well as picnic tables to enjoy a picnic.
The market towns of Northampton (7 miles), Market Harborough (13 miles), Wellingborough (13 miles), Kettering (12 miles) and Daventry (12 miles) are all easily accessible and each has an array of shops, bars and restaurants.
Slightly further afield but within easy driving distance is Warwick, famous for its castle and race course, Stratford Upon Avon, home of Shakespeare’s birthplace and the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, and Rutland Water where you can enjoy many more water sports, wildlife spotting, walking and cycling. There are many stately homes to visit including Althorp House (Princess Diana’s ancestral home and final resting place), Holdenby House, Lamport Hall and gardens, Kelmarsh Hall, Delapre Abbey and Canons Ashby. Theatre lovers will find good theatres in many of the local towns offering a range of productions. For motor sports enthuisiasts, Silverstone is 22 miles away, and both the British Motor Museum and the National Motor Cycle Museum are within an hour’s drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards
