Copper Beech Cottage
3 bedrooms, sleeps 4
Boasting a central location within the popular town of Alnwick, this is a great base from which to explore beautiful Northumberland.
Copper Beech Cottage is a charming, stone-built property situated in the heart of the historic market town of Alnwick. The living room has a cosy gas fire, is tastefully furnished and enjoys a lovely homely ambience. The kitchen/dining room is also very well presented, and a door leads to a terraced patio garden from the hall at the rear. All three bedrooms are on the first floor, with the master bedroom having the convenience of en-suite shower facilities. There is also an immaculate family bathroom. The cottage benefits from being within easy walking distance of a wide array of amenities in this highly sought after destination. A cinema/playhouse, restaurants, independent shops and a variety of pubs are all close by.
Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts) is a popular visitor attraction. Take time to visit Alnwick Garden: a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, which includes a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden, as well as a restaurant set in the largest tree house in Europe! Or visit Barter Books, the secondhand bookshop in the former station building which has open fires, interactive mural, model railway and café. The picturesque coastal village of Alnmouth, where there is a variety of good restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and gift shops, is only 4 miles away.
Sailing enthusiasts have available to them yacht and small boat moorings within the sheltered estuary. Golfers will delight in the two courses close by; one being a fine 9-hole course adjacent to the beach and the other being a challenging 18-hole course at Foxton, which enjoys panoramic views. There is easy access to the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Heritage coastline, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to the east, and the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west. Beach 4 miles. Shop 440 yards, pub/restaurant within 100 yards
