Ideal for couples or a family wanting to explore the Northumberland Heritage Coast and golden sandy beaches, or the Cheviot Hills.
Middlemoor Cottage sits in a rural location down a single track lane, situated 4 miles from the historic market town of Alnwick. Surrounded by public footpaths, trees and open farmland, this delightful cottage offers a relaxing retreat. There is a cosy wood burner in the large living room ensuring a warm welcome regardless of the season. The dining room/kitchen, along with a useful utility room, with toilet, is also on the ground floor. This charming cottage is tastefully furnished throughout, with two immaculately presented bedrooms on the first floor, along with a fresh contemporary shower room with large shower, basin and toilet. Externally there is parking and a large south facing garden.
Although the cottage offers a tranquil rural ambience, Middlemoor Cottage is located at Rock South Farm, which is within easy access of the A1.
Alnwick offers a wide array of amenities, including a cinema/playhouse, restaurants, independent shops and a variety of pubs. Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts), is a popular visitor attraction, or visit Alnwick Gardens, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden, and guests can dine in the restaurant in the largest tree house in Europe!
There are stunning, golden sandy beaches in the pretty coastal villages of Embleton and Newton-by-the-Sea, only 5 miles away. The picture-postcard village of Alnmouth, with its wide expanse of golden sandy beach and variety of good restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and gift shops, is 8 miles.
For golfing enthusiasts there are many local links and inland courses.
Just 10 miles north east is the seaside holiday village of Beadnell, which is popular with watersports enthusiasts. Visit Seahouses, a further 2 miles north, and take a boat trip to the Farne Islands to see the puffins at play. Bamburgh Castle is only another 3 miles up this stunning coastline.
Middlemoor Cottage is an excellent choice for those seeking a homely base that gives easy access to explore the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Heritage Coast to the east, which has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the wild expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west.
