The Nest has been beautifully decorated with an open plan living space complimented by splashes of colour and modern, comfortable soft furnishings. There are two bedrooms located on the first floor along with the family bathroom, and there is an attic room with a double sofa bed for single use, flexible sleeping arrangements. There is limited headspace in this room. Outside, the small patio area is the perfect place to dine al fresco or relax in the evening, enjoying a glass of wine when the weather is fine.
The property is located in Byers Green, a small village, just 5 miles from the thriving market town of Bishop Auckland.
The village boasts a boutique hotel, restaurant and a village pub, both of which are only a few minutes stroll from The Nest, ideal if you don’t want to cook after a busy day of sightseeing.
With so much to see and do in the area, The Nest is an ideal base for exploring. Less than 5 miles away is Kynren - an epic tale of England, a must-see, spectacular, live action outdoor theatre show. Kynren brings to life a 2,000 year old tale of invasions, royal splendour, wars and daily life. The National Railway Museum in Shildon, the world’s first railway town, is a must for railway enthusiasts and only a short drive from the property.
Sitting in the foothills of the Pennines, the surrounding area boasts stunning countryside and many National Trust and Heritage sites including Raby Castle, Beamish, High Force Waterfalls and Barnard Castle, all the perfect family day out. The beautiful cities of Durham and Newcastle are both easily accessible. You will find the Newcastle Metro Centre, a must for the shopaholic, or take the time to explore Durham where there is always something going on, no matter the time of year, with Durham City Jazz Festival, Festival of the Arts and Brass Festival to name a few.
