Day trips to Alnwick where you can discover the castle that the Duke still lives in and was used in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter are a must. A little further north and you will find the beautiful Heritage Coast with miles of sandy beaches and castles, along with friendly villages.
Travel west to Corbridge only 16 miles and close to Hadrian’s Wall where you can stop at a Roman fort or carry on to The Sill, a great visitor attraction. For shopaholics, The Metro Centre, one of the greatest indoor shopping malls, with an abundance of eateries, shops and large cinema is only 4 miles away. Beach 16 miles. Shop 600 yards, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
