A lovely private garden is to the rear for relaxing after days out. Only a few minutes’ walk to the fabulous bars, cafés, shops and river walks in this pretty market town steeped in history. Morpeth has plenty for everyone, including a swimming pool, rowing boats on the river, a lovely Edwardian indoor shopping arcade and some excellent places for drinks and food.
Carlisle Park is beautiful, where you can take a picnic.
Situated just off the main A1 making it a desirable location for travelling north and south to explore this very diverse and friendly county. Alnwick is easily reached, where you can book a day in Alnwick Castle famed for the Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes then explore the cobbled streets and visit the Duchess’ water gardens where there are activities that will entertain all ages. The coast is not far away, Newbiggin by the sea with the famous offshore statue in the bay and Druridge Bay are only a few miles.
Or head a little to the south and explore Tynemouth and Whitley bay with beautiful promenades and bijoux wine bars.
Morpeth is one of the best locations for visiting all the major tourist attractions. The train station in Morpeth is east coast where you can hop on a train to Edinburgh, or York or a 15 minute ride into Newcastle. The Scottish Borders make a nice day trip too and can be reached in just over an hour
