Alcedine is conveniently located at the gateway to Northumberland and close to Tyne and Wear; two great areas where you will find plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy. Situated just a few miles from the A1, there is quick and easy access to all of Northumberland’s coast and castles. Similarly being just minutes from the A69 and ‘Military Road’ there are a myriad of Roman heritage sites within a short drive. Running through Ponteland village and up over the Scottish Border, (less than an hour’s drive away), the A696 offers a scenic drive over the moors for access to the vast wilderness that is the Northumberland National Park.
Set in the affluent area of Darras Hall, Alcedine offers spacious and thoughtfully furnished accommodation, perfect for all the family. The semi-detached property is set in a tree lined area with private drive and plenty of parking. A large secluded garden to the rear is ideal for relaxing in during the summer months. The dining room with large patio doors offers a lovely sitting area overlooking the garden.
Located one mile from Ponteland village centre, Alcedine is far enough out to be in the countryside but close enough for easy access to a wide selection of local bars, restaurants and shopping.
The historic towns of Corbridge and Hexham are close by and half an hour’s drive takes you to the coast where you can visit the Heritage coastline, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s just a short distance from the vibrant city of Newcastle and Gateshead’s Quayside (Tyne and Wear Metro park and ride is just ten minutes away), quite simply the best of all worlds. Newcastle International Airport is five minutes drive away and the Newcastle (North Shields) Ferry Port is just a half hour drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Spoilt for choice - village cottage or cottage near the sea? North East England is many peoples first choice. We will show you pet friendly holiday homes in Culture and things to do in Newcastle, Alnwick Castle and Gardens or Islands off Northumberland Coast - some have a Pub close by.
