Pine Tree Lodge has a private hot tub for six people, which is set on the raised decking, and makes the perfect place from where you can look at the stars and just relax after a day exploring. Situated on a small park with other lodges of similar style, Pine Tree Lodge makes a super base for families, couples or friends. Its modern, open plan interior is sure to please all age groups, and there is a large Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, which you can cosy up in front of on a cooler evening, or just simply sit and relax in the open plan living space. Pine Tree Lodge is the ideal retreat where you can relax both inside and out, and there is a comfy, homely feel inside the lodge.
The lodge park is set close to the National Park boundary, and is a wonderful place to observe the beautiful dark skies on a clear night. The small village shop stocks essential items and has a small wine and beer selection, which is handy if you run out of the necessities. The friendly pub down in the village is part of a larger wedding venue offering good food and ales. The pub on-site offers good value food, but has limited opening times.
Bellingham, 9 miles, makes for a good trip out and has a larger food store, butcher and bakery. The Kielder Observatory (booking required) is well worth a visit even for novices and the area is ideal for cycling and walking.
Water enthusiasts flock to Kielder for the water parks scattered around the water’s edge, and the terrain is great for mountain biking too. Newcastle upon Tyne, with its regenerated quayside and selection of shops and pubs, is only 32 miles. Hexham is only 25 miles away and has an abbey and historic streets full of shops and eateries. Northumberland has been voted the best county to visit in the British Tourism Awards in 2018, and with its diverse landscape of golden sands, moors, hills and valleys, it really has something for all age groups.
