Megstone Cottage
4 bedrooms, sleeps 6

Just 300 yards from the beach, enjoy a wonderful break in the village of Seahouses, and explore all that the surrounding area has to offer.

Megstone is a lovely detached house, situated in a development of similar style properties, on the fringe of the traditional village of Seahouses. The accommodation is exceptionally well presented throughout and enjoys a bright and airy ambience. On the ground floor, a living room leads to a dining room and a good sized kitchen. There is also a useful utility room with a washing machine. The first floor offers a family bathroom along with four bedrooms; the master enjoying the convenience of an en-suite shower room.
Seahouses offers a wide array of facilities including tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and shops, all within easy walking distance of Megstone. Boat trips to the Farne Islands run from the nearby harbour – the islands are famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies.

Horse riding is available only 200 yards away and there is an impressive golf course on the links close by. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is only 2 miles north with its wide expanse of golden, and often empty, sandy beaches. From here, the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island and the birth place of Christianity, can be viewed. A further two miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary.

Visit the bird sanctuary at Budle Bay, a haven for bird watchers! At low tide, a vast expanse of mud flats are the home to thousands of sea and land birds.
The inland market town of Alnwick, offers many facilities including its own castle. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction with its grand cascade waterfall, and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe! Megstone offers excellent self-catering accommodation for families and friends who wish to explore the Heritage coastline designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yard
