There are beautiful views of the village and fells and several scenic walks from the doorstep. Delightful waterfalls, woodland walks and meadows are nearby with stepping stones and footbridges crossing the river. This part of the Wear Valley is located between Durham City and the Lake District, an ideal base for touring High Force, Killhope Lead Mining Museum, Hadrian’s Wall, Hamsterley Forest and Beamish. It is part of the Weardale Way and only a few miles from the Coast to Coast cycle route. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
