This comfortable, detached lodge is set on a peaceful and friendly park within 180 acres of parkland. All on one level, this lodge is ideal for couples or a small family to enjoy, with two bedrooms both with en suite facilities. The lodge backs onto the golf course and you can sit peacefully on the rear balcony overlooking the course or watch out for the many types of wildlife that visit the park whilst having an evening drink or an early morning cup of tea.
Wildlife is abundant, and with five duck ponds on-site, ducks are often seen too. Sometimes you may see a red squirrel or roe deer. If you want to simply relax and unwind, yet be close to all the tourist attractions, this comfy lodge is ideal.
On-site is a small café selling coffee and cakes which has free Wi-Fi, and there’s also a launderette. The 18-hole golf course on-site is free for visitors and set in mature woodlands. A children’s playground is a few hundred yards from the lodge, along with a great area with picnic tables.
The location is just perfect for exploring, with Alnwick Castle only 8 miles away, famed for the Harry Potter scenes, and still the home to the Duke of Northumberland. Valley View Lodge is centrally located to visit this diverse county, with the Cheviot Hills 30 miles away and Chillingham Castle, reputedly one of the most haunted in England, just 21 miles away.
The Heritage Coast stretches for miles with golden beaches, and Bamburgh Castle and beach is only 25 miles away. It makes a super base for cyclists and walkers with easy access to the hills and coast. Northumberland borders Scotland, so a day trip via train from Alnmouth station is a must. Newcastle upon Tyne is only a short train journey or 32 miles in the car, where you can experience some of the city arts and culture. Northumberland is reputedly the friendliest and most unspoilt county in England and visitors will be sure of a warm, friendly Northumbrian welcome staying in Valley View on this very peaceful park.
