Ivy Cottage is a delightful little cottage set back in a quiet and private location in the delightful and popular small village of Scotby, just off Junction 43 on the M6 motorway. A short 15 minute drive from the City of Carlisle, the Scottish Border & Gretna Green, Hadrian’s wall and 30 minutes from the North Lakes.
Ivy Cottage is the perfect location, whether your looking for a quiet, relaxing break away, sightseeing around the historical sites in Cumbria, walking in the North Lakes or cycling The Hadrian’s way.
The ground floor has a good sized kitchen with doors to the living room which in turn opens up to the dining area which overlooks the private, sunny and enclosed garden, where you can relax on the swing seat, table & chairs and dine using the electric BBQ grill.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom with dressing room and bathroom.
Ivy Cottage is lovely and peaceful and you certainly will enjoy the most relaxing break. Scotby itself is an attractive little village and only a few minutes walk away from Ivy Cottage you will find the local pub The Royal Oak and the village shop/post office and hair salon. Ivy Cottage is ideally placed to enjoy the wonderful Cumbrian countryside from the Eden Valley, the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Lake District National Park and of course a visit to the area is never complete without a visit to Hadrian’s Wall.
A short jaunt will take you over the Border into Scotland to discover the beautiful region with its miles of dramatic coastline or visit the romantic village of Gretna Green. Cumbria has something to offer all visitors, those seeking adventure, and those seeking peace and quiet, with its history, landscape of mountains and lakes and much, much more.
