This well presented, traditional, terraced Keswick cottage is ideal for those who want to leave the car behind and explore the delights of the town centre on foot. Set in the heart of one of the most popular towns in the Lake District National Park, Friars Cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break in the Lakes. It has a small, enclosed patio at the rear, complete with garden furniture and barbecue which allows you to unwind in the fresh air and enjoy the afternoon sun. Placed in one of the quieter areas of the town it provides a comfortable and relaxing base with just a 5 minute walk into the bustling town centre of Keswick. The museum and art gallery is just across the River Greta, and can be reached on foot in just 8 minutes, while a leisurely 15-minute stroll through the town centre brings you to the famous Derwent Pencil Museum. Regular visitors will know that Keswick boasts an abundance of restaurants, cafés, shops and tourist attractions and it also provides a fantastic starting point for exploring the spectacular scenery of the Northern Lake District.
Derwent Water is just 1 mile away, while the Skiddaw and Latrigg walks are almost on your doorstep. If you like walking or mountain biking, you won’t have to travel far to begin your adventure, or if you fancy a round of golf in the shadows on the imposing Blencathra, Keswick Golf Club is just 5 miles away.
