Extra Amenities

Located in the popular Cumbrian town of Kirkby Stephen, giving easy access to the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines, Croglin Castle Apartments are the perfect choice for a holiday to remember. If you’re looking to stay somewhere contemporary, spacious and luxurious, look no further, because you’ll love these beautiful apartments. Croglin Castle consists of five modern apartments, all of which have been expertly renovated in 2020. This prominent building on the outskirts of Kirkby Stephen was a former hotel, pub and restaurant, and now has a new lease of life, housing a selection of stunning holiday hideaways. As soon as you walk in, you’ll feel right at home, there’s a real focus on guest experience and quality. The interior décor, fixtures, fittings, appliances and furnishings have been carefully selected with guest comfort high on the list of priorities.

Sleeping up to four guests, Wild Boar features two spacious master bedrooms, each with super kingsize beds. Both rooms provide built in storage and plenty of hanging space for your belongings.

The apartment also features a spacious, contemporary bathroom. The kitchen area is well-equipped as well as a really social living area with plenty of easy seating, Smart TV and large dining table. If you don’t feel like cooking after a day out exploring, there is a pub which offers takeaway food located on a nearby campsite 200 yards away. Wild Boar is perfect for couples looking for a relaxing break or families wanting that little bit of luxury.
Located in the Eden Valley, the historical market town of Kirkby Stephen couldn’t be in a better location if you like to explore. You’re surrounded by, and on the borders of, what is effectively three National Parks. To the north, the North Pennines with rolling hills, woodland, and picturesque surroundings. To the south, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with caves, waterfalls, iconic and historical towns and villages. To the west, the Lake District National Park with lakes, mountains and any number of tourist hotspots. If you like walking, hiking, climbing, cycling or you just like to drive around beautiful countryside and enjoy afternoon tea and a bit of shopping, you’re spoilt for choice.

But you don’t have to travel far. Kirkby Stephen itself is steeped in history and offers a good selection of bars, restaurants, independent shops and sights to visit. It also offers a number of walking routes locally, plenty of wildlife and pleasant scenery. It’s also home to a heritage railway station, where you can enjoy a lovely scenic trip on the historic Carlisle - Settle line. The market town of Kendal, 20 miles, is known as the ‘gateway to the southern Lake District’, and perfect for a day of shopping. From here you can easily access the popular tourist hotspots of Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere as well as take a cruise on the famous Windermere steamers. Walkers can tackle the quieter Howgill Fells. A day on these tops can be considerably less busy but equally just as spectacular for views. All in all, if you love the outdoors you’re spoilt for choice, and what better way to enjoy the outdoors than with a good night’s sleep in luxury accommodation – Croglin Castle, ticks all the boxe
