Woodside Cottage
3 bedrooms, sleeps 6

Ideal for couples or a family, this characterful conversion is perfectly located for exploring the Lake District and surrounding area.

Woodside Cottage is just over 250 years old and makes the ideal spring board from which to visit the Lakes. Ideally positioned at the bottom end of Lake Windermere in an idyllic hamlet, which used to be a thriving industrious village. The terraced cottage once housed the men and boys who worked for the Stott Park Bobbin Mill many years ago, and is now a fabulous, luxury retreat - a real piece of history! Today the Stott Park Bobbin Mill is owned by English Heritage and was featured on the BBC’s Hidden Heritage series. It is within walking distance of Lake Windermere, High Dam and Lakeside, where you can visit the Aquarium of the Lakes and enjoy a coffee at the cafe whilst enjoying views over Lake Windermere. Steam trains run from Haverthwaite to Lakeside, and ferries run from Lakeside to Fell Foot (National Trust). Lake cruisers can also be taken from Lakeside to Ambleside and Bowness. For the outdoor enthusiasts, walking books and maps are provided, and there is also a children’s toy box to keep them entertained. Beach 8 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
