Extra Amenities

If you’ve ever imagined waking in the morning with the sight of rugged mountains and stunning Lake District landscapes all around, then this is the place for you. Helvellyn, the third highest mountain in England, standing at 3114 feet, serves as the perfect backdrop to this idyllic Lake District cottage. Its location between Thirlmere and St John’s in the Vale offers stunning panoramic views to the surrounding fells and farmland, with dramatic views of some of the most revered walking and climbing routes in the area.

This quaint, end terrace cottage has been carefully furnished with a modern and contemporary twist to offer a great base for the perfect adventure in the Lake District National Park. Sleeping up to six adults in three good-sized bedrooms, this property is perfect for multiple couples and families alike. Featuring two separate living areas it offers plenty of flexibility. The first, a snug, is perfect for reading or even a snooze. The second, with Freeview TV and a wood burner, is great for cosy nights by the fire and a movie night.

With an open plan kitchen and dining room, you will love the social aspect to this house and it offers the perfect space for dinner or preparing your energising food for a day in the fells. It also has a separate downstairs toilet and utility room with washer/dryer. On the first floor you will find two spacious double bedrooms, one featuring an en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle, a good sized twin room and a separate family bathroom complete with bath and separate shower. At the rear there is a lawned garden with a raised decked area, garden furniture and great views. Perfect for soaking up the morning sun as it breaks over the tops of the fells.

If you prefer to relax and take in the sights on your holiday, then you couldn’t be better situated. Just 5 miles north is the popular market town of Keswick. With its abundance of bars, restaurants, shops, fine dining, local ales, coffee shops and tourist attractions, it’s no wonder this place attracts millions of visitors every year. Famous for its narrow streets and courtyards, this traditional market town is one not to be missed.

If you like culture, check out the Theatre By The Lake, with its arts and drama on the banks of Derwentwater, where you can hire a rowing boat or take a dip if you’re feeling brave.

For family fun, why not try Puzzling Place, a mind boggling attraction based on optical illusions, or the Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world. Or for a really wild day out, try The Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite, 14 miles, or The Lakes Distillery offering daily tasting and tours, also 14 miles away. If you fancy a round of golf, Keswick Golf Club is just 5¼ miles. If you like outdoor adventure, there is walking, cycling and climbing, where you will be surrounded by some amazing scenery. Jump in the car and the beautiful drive over Dunmail Raise brings you to Grasmere, 7 miles, Rydal, 10 miles, Ambleside, 11 miles, Bowness and Windermere, 16 miles. Shop 5½ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mil
