The Light House
1 bedroom, sleeps 2

Within walking distance of Hoad Monument, this property is a great base from which to explore the Lake District National Park.

The Light House is situated at the bottom of the Ulverston Hoad, where at the very top is Hoad Monument (also known as the Sir John Barrow Monument). The Hoad is not a working lighthouse or has ever been one, but was built to resemble one, and is now one of the many popular walks in the Lake District.

This semi-detached cottage is the perfect cosy bolt hole for anyone wanting to visit the Lake District National Park. It sits just on the outskirts of Ulverston, making it easy to walk into the centre to enjoy the delights that the town has to offer. Ulverston is a great market town, and was the birthplace of Stan Laurel from Laurel and Hardy, and is also home to the world’s shortest, widest and deepest canal. The town is also the start of the 70-mile long Cumbria Way, popular with many fell walkers nationwide. There are many attractions in and around Ulverston, making it the perfect springboard for anyone wishing to explore the Lake District. Beach 2 miles. Shop 175 yards. pub and restaurant ½ mile.
