Want to experience small town life in an authentic English setting? Then consider a stay at Whitchurch Cottage. This link-detached town cottage is ideally located for strolling into Hampshire’s smallest town for a walk along the River Test or a sojourn in one of the old-world pubs. Whitchurch may officially be a town but it feels more like a village. It’s surrounded by rolling countryside, including the now famous Watership Down, and has many listed and heritage buildings and attractions.
Whitchurch Cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard, mixing fresh modernity with period details. Antique furnishings and little adornments are featured alongside a brand new kitchen, a Jack n’ Jill wet room and underfloor heating.
The cottage is entered from the patio at the back into the welcoming and sunny kitchen with its gorgeous natural stone flooring. The kitchen is airy and bright and will have everything you need for your stay, including possibly a French-themed gift from the owners (no spoilers).
Relaxing, dining and socialising is well catered for. The dining room is spacious and uncluttered with a table for six. The living room, at the front of the house, has snug little sofas and chairs for chatting with a tea or resting after a walk in the North Wessex Downs. The wood burning stove will provide heat and ambiance to allow conversation to continue into the night. Downstairs, the cellar has been converted into a snug room with a large Smart TV.
Outside, there’s a patio with a table and chairs for drinks in the sun.
The garden is well sized and pleasant with a mix of established trees and new plants. If the sun’s shining, it’s a good place to sit and relax.
All in all, Whitchurch Cottage is a well appointed, ideally situated house to spend a week or a few days. If you’re wanting to be close to the attractions and amenities of Whitchurch, whilst staying in a charming cottage, then you’ve come to the right place!
There is building work taking place next door during summer 2022 for a duration of 8 weeks. This means noise, dust and disturbance. If you have any questions regarding this, then please call up and ask for more information before you book
