The Old Coach House
2 bedrooms, sleeps 4

With a host of features including beamed vaulted ceilings, a galleried walkway and a wood burner, this lovely coach house is perfect for a relaxing break.

In the heart of the Sussex Weald this beautiful light and airy, detached coach house is on the site of the original red brick (now oak clad above the red brick) Victorian coach house to Danefold House and stands within its grounds. Boasting vaulted beamed ceilings, a galleried walkway and wood burner, it’s the perfect year round destination for a relaxing short break or longer vacation. Surrounded by bluebell woods, beautiful in the spring, there are walks directly from the doorstep and beyond. Theses include the Downs Link which is ideal for walkers, cyclists and equestrians. Guests can use the owner’s tennis court by arrangement.

For horse lovers grazing and/or livery may be available by arrangement and for those that enjoy a day at the races, Goodwood, Hickstead, Fontwell and Brighton race courses beckon. Goodwood is also home to the Festival of Speed in July and the Goodwood Revival in September.
If you are interested in the past then a visit to Petworth House (National Trust) with its deer park designed by Capability Brown, is a must. It is also home to one of the finest art collections within the National Trust, including paintings by Titian, Reynolds, Van Dyck and a fine collection of landscapes by Turner.

Parham House and Park is one of the countries’ finest Elizabethan houses and holds many events throughout the year, while Nymans, near Haywards Heath, boasts a rare and unusual plant collection. Arundel with its splendid castle, Pulborough Brooks RSPB Nature Reserve and kayaking on the River Arun are great days out. The coast at Worthing and Brighton are easily accessible, and there are good train connections to London for further sightseeing opportunities from Haywards Heath and Horsham. Beach 15½ miles. Shop under 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
