There is so much to do in the area including magnificent coastal walks - with the start of the majestic Solent Way, and the cliff tops, where you can enjoy a stunning coastal vista all the way from Milford-on-Sea to Hurst Castle and the Isle of Wight.
The beach offers swimming and the famous fossil beds. Nature lovers will enjoy Ballard Lake, the water meadows and Barton Common.
The New Forest, with its many picturesque villages and vast open heathland where ponies, donkeys and cattle roam freely, is a popular tourist destination. Beaulieu Motor Museum, Exbury Gardens, Bucklers Hard, Furzey Gardens, New Forest Tours, Liberty’s Owl Raptor and Reptile Centre, Longdown Activity Centre, GoApe and Hurst Castle are all worthy of a visit.
Marples is within easy driving distance to many other popular towns and cities, including Christchurch, Winchester with its superb cathedral, and Southampton.
