Located on the south east coast of the Isle of Wight, you may have seen Clarence House Holiday Apartments featured on television’s ’Escape to the Country!’
With the owner living on-site, Clarence House Holiday Apartments is an arrangement of two ground floor apartments and a detached cottage in the popular seaside town of Shanklin. The development offers off road parking, although it can also be easily reached by train from the mainland. For cyclists, there is a bike shed to store your bikes overnight. Ideally positioned, Clarence House Holiday Apartments is only a short distance from the beach and amenities that this delightful location has to offer.
All the properties are furnished to a very good standard and offer a range of home comforts. Every unit comes with an equipped kitchen, the living rooms all come with sofa beds, and each has access to their own outside space and garden furniture within the communal garden.
Victoria Apartment (ref UK11614) is a spacious, ground floor apartment that can accommodate up to six guests, with bi-fold doors that open onto the south-facing, shared garden and private patio area.
Helena Apartment (ref UK11615) is also a spacious, ground floor apartment sleeping up to four guests, again with bi-fold doors to the shared garden and private decked area. Ideal for families holidaying together, Victoria and Helena apartments have an interconnecting door and can be interlinked if required.
Louise Cottage (ref UK11616), is a lovely, detached, bijou cottage that is great for couples. It can accommodate up to four guests, with one double bedroom, and a double sofa bed in the living area. French doors lead from the bedroom out onto the large private decking area.
Shanklin has an abundance of shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants, all just a short distance away. The ‘Old Village’, which as the name suggests, is the oldest part of the town, is a pleasure to explore with its pretty thatched buildings and quirky gift shops. The beach is really popular with families and is the ideal place to sample some fresh seafood or an Isle of Wight cream tea! The surrounding cliff paths are excellent for gentle strolls or bike rides and the views of the bay are stunning.
There are numerous attractions across the island to discover for all ages, including The Needles with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanic Garden, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. No visit to Shanklin would be complete without a walk down to the beach through Shanklin Chine, a deep wooded gorge with waterfalls. Beach ½ mile. Shop and pub 700 yards, restaurant 550 yards.
