Manor Park View Cottage
3 bedrooms, sleeps 6

Situated moments from Shanklin Old Village, close to the Big Meade Park, is this spacious townhouse, able to comfortably sleep up to six guests.

This terraced townhouse is tucked away on the Shanklin Manor Estate, where the manor itself dates back to the Doomsday Book and over many years has been extensively renovated and restored back to its former glory. Set within the 2½ acres of grounds, there is a listed walled garden, and the property looks out over the picturesque adjacent parkland from the living area and some bedrooms, there is also private gate giving access to this lovely parkland.
Today this charming holiday home makes an ideal base for groups or families. The golden sandy beach is within a 15-minute walk, but for the more energetic there are steps leading down to the beach which take about 10 minutes. The beach stretches for miles onto neighbouring Sandown and Yaverland, and the town’s esplanade is packed full of amusements and crazy golf, as well as several places to eat.

Away from the beach, the main town hosts a multitude of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants to enjoy.
The Old Village, located moments from the property, is renowned for its pretty thatched cottages, cosy tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and craft shops to discover. There is also Shanklin Chine to explore, carved by Mother Nature’s own hands over thousands of years. The stunning, tree-lined gorge cuts its mark from the Old Village down to the sandy beach and esplanade below. In the evening the waterfalls and woodland are illuminated, giving the gardens a totally different aspect and atmosphere.
Shanklin is well-served by public transport around the island, with regular buses and the railway ’Island Line’ to Ryde and Sandown.

Outdoor pursuits on the island include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, golf and watersports. There are numerous attractions across the island to discover for all ages, such as The Needles with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Blackgang Chine, Dinosaur Isle, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park and Carisbrooke Castle are also ideal places to explore, or why not pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens? The sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes also make for a great day out. Beach ¾ mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ½ mil
