Dartmoor National Park is a similar distance to the south as Exmoor National Park is to the north east and can be reached in an hour. Atworthy Cross Cottage is less than 2 miles from Bradworthy village, with its lovely village square, shops and friendly pub, just a half hour walk away down quiet lanes. There is another popular pub just a few miles away at Woolfardisworthy, with its excellent fish and chip shop attached. The Tamar Lakes with its activity centre and fishing is approximately 4 miles away. Take a trip to the stunning coast at Hartland, where many ships have been wrecked. It is 12 miles from Bude with several beaches including Sandymouth Bay and just 14 miles from the port town of Bideford which sits on the Torridge estuary. Bideford offers all the amenities of a major town including supermarkets, pannier market, park, eateries, pubs and tea rooms. There is also a popular outlet shopping centre for a spot of retail therapy.

North Devon is famed for its fantastic natural attractions such as Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’, and the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages such as Lynton and Lynmouth, Ilfracombe and the world-famous Clovelly Village.
