Extra Amenities

Situated on the outskirts of Bridlington in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Sunflower Cottage is a delightful semi-detached cottage, styled to provide a comfortable home from home. Bridlington’s lovely sandy beaches are just a 5 minute drive away with everything you could need for the children from donkey rides, sandcastles, mini golf and the odd amusement arcade. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes but for a special evening out head to the Bridlington Spa complex, home to many international acts. From Bridlington you can catch the train to Sewerby where you’ll find Sewerby Hall and Gardens.

This is a great day out for the kids with a mini zoo, quiet picnic areas and lots of outdoor play areas. For the adults there are guided tours around the house and walled gardens. You can catch the train back or walk along the clifftops down into Bridlington. In very little time you can be in the resorts of Flamborough Head, Filey and Scarborough. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton with its thousands of puffins perched on the cliffs is a great educational centre and a bird spotters paradise.

There are many stately homes in the area such as Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere and the beautiful Castle Howard. You are ideally placed to visit Hull, voted city of culture for 2017, and also the city of York, a medieval walled city rich in ancient history and full of cobbled streets and little alleyways and a wealth of visitors attractions. Both cities can be reached within the hour by car which makes Sunflower Cottage the perfect base to discover all that Yorkshire has to offer. Beach 3 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
