This charming cottage is located very close to the centre of Helmsley, with amenities including riverside walks, shops and ample pubs on the doorstep.

Living/dining room: With open fire, Freeview TV and DVD player.
Kitchen: With breakfast area, range with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, CD player and French doors leading to courtyard.

First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With double bed and Freeview TV.
Bedroom 2: With twin beds.
Bedroom 3: With single bed.
Shower room: With double shower cubicle and toilet.

Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for open fire included.

Extra Amenities

Lavender Cottage is a charming, stone built, mid terraced cottage ideally located close to the market square of Helmsley, known as the Jewel in Yorkshire’s crown. The cottage is full of character and tastefully decorated throughout. It offers accommodation for two couples, a family or even a group of friends and also accepts one small dog.
The entrance is to the cottage is tucked away down a private snickelway which gives access to the door. A small entrance for hanging coats, dog leads and boots, takes you through to the large living/dining room complete with an open fire, comfortable furniture where you can relax and partake in a glass of wine or simply sit and watch your favourite film, especially after a long day exploring the North York Moors National Park. The dining area sits to one end and offers more than enough room for all to sit and enjoy a great home cooked meal.


To the rear of the property is the light and airy country style kitchen complete with a small breakfast table and packed with all the mod cons you would expect in a holiday home of this standard. The French doors lead out from the kitchen to the pretty country cottage courtyard complete with seating and south facing. The stairs to the first floor are found tucked away in the living area and you will find two good sized bedrooms offering both kingsize and twin accommodation, a shower room completes the accommodation.
Helmsley is arguably one of Yorkshire’s finest market towns and is where the North Yorks Moors National Park and Howardian Hills meet, offering the finest views in the country. Ideal for walkers as it is where the Ebor Way, Cleveland Way and Inn Way meet. The focal point of the town is the market square, a meeting point for locals, walkers and cyclists alike.

Helmsley certainly knows how to keep its visitors entertained with shops, cafés and eateries, including Michelin starred restaurants. There is even an open air heated swimming pool during the summer months, a ruined castle, walled garden, microbrewery and the stately home of Duncombe Park to explore.
If you are looking a little further afield, the historic city of York is only a 30-minute drive away, and a visit to Castle Howard, the home of Brideshead Revisited, is a must on any holiday itinerary. The town has great road links to the scenic east coast and the lower Yorkshire Dales.
