This second floor apartment (with lift access) is a great base from which to explore both the Peak District National Park and West Yorkshire.
This beautiful two bedroom apartment can be found on the second floor of an old converted mill, less than a mile from the very centre of bustling Holmfirth. Full of character with exposed beams and deep stone window sills, the property benefits from far reaching views over open countryside towards the Peak District National Park. South facing, the apartment is wonderfully light and airy, and boasts a roll-top bath with rain shower, and natural stone flooring. Uniquely, one of the bedroom’s also features an award-winning study bed as seen on George Clarke’s ’Amazing Spaces’.
Set against the wall, access is from one side only, but the bed is full size, complete with memory foam mattress, and leaves all items on the desk untouched when converted. The apartment also benefits from private off road parking and a lift will take you direct to the second floor.
Best known as home of ’Last of the Summer Wine’, Holmfirth is small Yorkshire town set in the heart of the Holme Valley. Ample restaurants, wine bars, pubs and coffee shops are on hand, and the town even has its own vineyard where you can take a tour or visit their restaurant.
Breathtaking scenery surrounds the area, which is popular with outdoor enthusiasts, including cyclists recreating the Holme Moss ascent as seen in the Yorkshire stage of the 2014 Tour de France. On the doorstep of the Peak District National Park, ample walking opportunities are available, and in the evening, Holmfirth’s picturedrome is a fine intimate venue for live music, events and the cinema.
