Three things come to mind when you think of Ingleton, the famous Waterfalls Trail, White Scar Cave and delightful shops amongst thriving village life. All of these can be found right on the doorstep of this beautiful cottage.
Facing out onto the village square, the property is easily recognisable from the outside due to the striking, bear-shaped piece of weathered limestone, from which the cottage takes its name. Once inside, the downstairs open plan living space is bright and airy. The comfortable living area has a sofa and chair looking out over the square, and the ample sized kitchen and dining area have everything you need to make a hearty breakfast or evening meal.
However, with so many good restaurants, tearooms and eateries at hand, you could be easily tempted away from cooking during your stay. A comfortable bed awaits upstairs. Wake up after a good night’s sleep and revive and refresh in the adjacent bathroom with warm, fluffy towels at hand from the heated towel rail, as you prepare for your day ahead.
Perfect for couples, Bear Cottage is dog friendly too. There are so many places to visit in the area, and your four legged friend will love the walks.
With the Yorkshire Three Peaks and Ribblehead Viaduct nearby, approximately 15 minutes on the Settle to Carlisle train line, positioned on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you won’t be disappointed by the scenery on offer. Kendal, the gateway to the Lake District, is just 19 miles away, whilst the popular market towns of Settle and Kirkby Lonsdale are a short drive away.
The Christmas Market is a notable event and for fell runners, Ingleborough Mountain Race takes place every July. Shop, pub and restaurant 20 yards.
