The Cottage is a pretty terraced stone cottage, set in the heart of the peaceful village of Marton on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park. The Cottage is perfectly placed for those wishing to explore the historic city of York, the market towns of Malton, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering, the East Coast as well as the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors and Howardian Hills. Offering accommodation for two couples or a small family, along with your four-legged friends, this cottage oozes charm and character throughout with beams and feature stone walls. The sitting room has a large wood burner, perfect for those cosy nights in by the fire and a window seat allowing you to sit and watch village life. The country style kitchen/diner is flooded with natural light.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with bunk bed. The accommodation is completed with a shower room. Outside the cottage is an enclosed patio, where you can sit and enjoy a coffee in the morning sunshine. A winding pathway takes you to a large enclosed private garden with small orchard where you can pick the fruit to cook a delicious homemade pie!

The countryside surrounding The Cottage is a walkers and cyclists paradise, with miles of footpaths, cycle paths and quiet country lanes to enjoy. Within a short drive of the cottage is Dalby Forest where you can enjoy walking through managed woodland or try one of the more extreme cycle routes. A trip on the North York Moors Steam Railway from Pickering to Whitby is a must whilst visiting this area.

The stately home of Castle Howard, home of Brideshead Revisited is also on the doorstep and provides a year round events program from Last Night at the Proms to a Christmas spectacular. The coastal towns of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are within easy reach for a walk on the beach or a fish supper. Whilst the bustling market towns of Malton and Pickering offer a plethora of antique shops, independent shops, cafés and some amazing delis where you can sample some traditional Yorkshire fayre. With the dramatic North York Moors on the doorstep of this gorgeous cottage, you will want to return again and again. Shop 3½ miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant 4 miles.
