Duck Cottage is a charming mews cottage tucked away in a secluded central area. The cottage overlooks Cod Beck, home to the famous Thirsk ducks. Tastefully decorated and presented to a high standard; the quality furnishings and personal touches make it a delightful place to stay. Thirsk, one-time home of the novel writing vet, James Herriot, has a good choice of independent shops, pubs and restaurants set around the cobbled market square. It is an excellent base to explore the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Parks. The city of York, Harrogate and the east coast are within easy driving distance. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
