This beautifully presented home from home nestles in the pretty village of Ruswarp, on the River Esk just a mile from the coastal town of Whitby.
The owner has taken great care to ensure each guests receive the warmest welcome to the Yorkshire Coast, ensuring that you have a comfortable and relaxing stay. This property is beautifully furnished throughout, with many thoughtful features and personal touches.
One of the most memorable features of this property is the incredible views over the valley in both directions, across the rolling fields abundant in wildlife, and towards the iconic Whitby Abbey. You can also see the viaduct which is now part of the Cinder Track, popular with walkers and cyclists. Through the summer you can watch the steam train puffing as it makes its way across the North Yorkshire Moors. To make the most of these incredible views, there is a large balcony over the garden where you can enjoy al fresco dining whilst taking in the stunning surroundings.
The garden itself is of a great size for enjoying the summer sunshine.
Inside the property there is a well-equipped kitchen, and the dining area leads out onto the balcony. A great space to unwind together over a home cooked meal after a day of exploring. The owner has added extra atmosphere with a wall mounted fire, which makes the kitchen lovely and cosy. The living room provides plenty of space to socialise in front of the TV. A contemporary shower room completes the ground floor accommodation.
On the first floor there are three bedrooms; a master double bedroom with an en-suite toilet, a second double bedroom and a single bedroom. This suits a variety of guests from two couples, to smaller families or friends. For those who enjoy the great outdoors, there is a large laundry room on the lower ground floor which can be used for storing bicycles, surf boards, paddle boards and walking gear.

There are excellent amenities in the village, including an award-winning butcher’s, local shop and a pub serving real ale and good food. With boating on the River Esk and a lovely waterside tea room, the locality has much to offer. The historic delights of Whitby are within easy walking distance or public transport is available too. The Esk Valley Walk runs through the village and a public footpath offers a pleasant walk into the historic port of Whitby, with its pretty harbour, sandy beaches and wide range of restaurants and shops. With the beautiful heather-clad moors and dramatic coastline to explore, this cottage is in the perfect location. Take time to discover the history of the area and the many nearby attractions.
