Extra Amenities

On a peaceful development, with off-street parking outside, this is in a wonderful location for exploring Whitby and the beautiful North York Moors. Both bedrooms are en-suite allowing for a little extra personal space, with a desirable enclosed garden so you can enjoy al fresco dining in the sunshine in privacy.
It’s located just next to part of the Cinder Track a public footpath which was formerly the railway leading to the coastal towns of Robin Hood’s Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough – ideal for walkers or cyclists. Whitby is the perfect base to explore the great outdoors, with beautiful sandy beaches, forests and the rolling heather covered hills of the North York Moors.
The name Freyr was inspired by the links to the Vikings in Whitby’s history.

Freyr is the name of a Norse God, who is said to bestow “peace and pleasure". The Vikings travelled across the North Atlantic to discover this coastal town over thousand years ago and you can discover more at the museum at Whitby Abbey. The town’s colourful history is one of the many draws to Whitby. So little of the old town has changed over hundreds of years. There are still ships being built where Captain Cook’s vessel the Endeavour was handmade back in 1764 ready for the first voyage to Australia, you can now sail across the harbour in a replica, or have your dinner in a restaurant on the ship in the harbour. You can explore the winding streets that Dracula used to roam according to Bram Stoker’s famous book, which has inspired movies and TV shows as well as the annual Goth events.

On the cliff-top take a moment to walk beneath the arch made from a whale’s jaw bone, the whales visit Whitby at the end of the summer much to the delight of lucky boat trippers. The town is very proud of its seafaring heritage, enjoy smoked kippers, fresh crab or award winning fish and chips.
If you desire a property that will exceed your expectations and will provide you with all your home comforts and more, then Freyr could be the property for you. A great base for exploring the wonders of this beautiful corner of Yorkshire. Shop, pub and restaurant 1/2 mile
