Extra Amenities

This lovely fisherman’s cottage is set in a relaxing yard on the west side of Whitby with superb rooftop views of the historic abbey and St Mary’s Church from the living room and bedroom. The coal-effect living flame gas fire makes this a great place for a romantic getaway and a wonderful base for exploring all that the bustling town of Whitby has to offer from its secluded location, yet it is close to Pannett Park and a short stroll to the town centre with all of Whitby’s amenities. Dating back into the 18th century, this terraced cottage still boasts some of the original features.
Whitby is an increasingly popular resort with tourists from all over the world visiting each year and is probably most famous for its links to Dracula, the Goth Weekender and the Whitby Regatta, but there is something new in town every year from music festivals to Steam Punk Spectaculars.

The town has a myriad of shops and bizarres in the cobbled back streets, and boasts a 3 mile long beach that stretches towards the much sought after resort of Sandsend. Whitby is well-known for award winning fish and chips, and modern restaurants, wine bars and tea rooms compliment the traditional seaside offerings.
This is the gateway to the North York Moors, and wonderful countryside walks through beautiful countryside are right on your doorstep. If you don’t fancy walking, take a steam train journey from Whitby into Heartbeat Country and Goathland where you will still see some of the buildings and businesses used in the much loved TV show, Heartbeat.

The Yorkshire Heritage Coast is well worth exploring. You’ll find surfing schools and stories of piracy along the coast in stunning bays and coves such as Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay, as well as Saltburn and Sandsend. Traditional seaside resorts such as Scarborough are easily accessible with attractions including The Sealife Centre, Peasholme Park, two beaches, an outdoor music arena and a water park. Beach 380 yards. Shop 200 yards, pub 150 yards and restaurant 100 yards
