The Coach House is a detached cottage situated in the beautiful grounds of the owner’s manor house, yet still very private with its own enclosed garden with far reaching views across the countryside. The Coach House has been renovated to a very good standard with a contemporary feel. The patio doors open up to a private, enclosed garden with a terraced area, lawn and private hot tub, perfect to relax in after visiting all the attractions Yorkshire has to offer.

Although you feel very much in the countryside, the cottage is only 5 miles from the centre of York and just 4 miles from the famous York Racecourse, home to some of the best racing in the UK. Acaster Malbis is a small, historic village mentioned in the Domesday Book, where you will find a village pub that overlooks the River Ouse, and you can walk along the river bank all the way to York.

During the summer months there’s also river cruises that run from Acaster Malbis to the centre of York - a leisurely way to enter the city.

York has been voted every year as one of the top 10 cities to visit in the UK, and staying at Coach House you are in a perfect position to make the most of this beautiful city. There are lots of museums and theatres as well as York’s bustling shopping streets with great cosmopolitan cafés and street entertainers. The Shambles, with its cobbled streets and overhanging timber framed properties, some that date back to the 14th century, is one of the most visited sites in York as well as the majestic York Minster standing proud in the centre.

Out of town there’s McArthur Glens, a very large designer outlet just a few minutes’ drive away. You will find many stately home nearby including Beningbrough Hall and Castle Howard, as well as the market towns of Driffield, Beverley, Malton and Pickering, which are full of life on market days. Coach House is a perfect base to visit the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Wolds and for those who like the seaside, the east coast is less than an hour’s drive.
