Rated ‘5 star’ by VisitEngland, the property features a private garden offering views across open countryside, this really is the perfect base for discerning guests wishing to escape the stresses and strains of everyday life, and has wonderful walks that start literally at the front door. Centrally located, there is a great deal to discover in all directions, and guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to planning their day’s activities. Dillington is a small hamlet 2 miles away from the bustling market town of Dereham, which has a 9-hole golf course, cinema, bowling alley, leisure centre, restaurants and a market on Tuesdays and Fridays. The pretty, Georgian market town of Holt lies 4 miles inland from Blakeney, which is brimming with fabulous eating places, galleries, antiques and shops. It also has the famous ‘Poppy Line’, a heritage railway that runs from Holt to the coastal town of Sheringham. With beaches to the north west, the north and the east, there is a variety of seaside experiences to be had.
There is picturesque Blakeney with its quay and nature reserve, Titchwell Marsh RSPB reserve, Brancaster Staithe, Burnham Deepdale, Morston seal trips, Wells-next-the-Sea with its narrow gauge railway, beautiful quay and quaint mix of artisan and traditional seaside shops and cafés, and Cromer with its famous promenade pier and sandy beach. For all the fun of the fair, choose Great Yarmouth or Hunstanton, both of which offer amusements and sandy beaches. Making time to visit the Broad’s is a must, and its worth hiring a day boat or joining a trip out to see the wildlife and scenic views. Not to be missed is a visit to historical Norwich, with its Norman castle, museums, cobbled streets of Elm Hill, cathedral, theatres, shops and restaurants. Closer to home, lies Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and Gressenhall Rural Life Museum. Foodies will not be disappointed either, with lots of great places to eat out, many of which offer seasonal local produce. Shop and pub 2 mile
