Nestled beside woodland, just a stone’s throw from the banks of the River Bure, this detached, single-storey property is located completely off the beaten track, in a peaceful and magical location. You will be able to enjoy excellent walking and explore miles of countryside walks, canoe trails and cycle routes from the door. This wonderful character property has no stairs and has its own large outside dining and seating patio, tastefully styled to marry character and charm with essential modern day comforts. The bedroom offers a super kingsize bed, which can be made into twin beds on request.
Nearby is the popular narrow gauge Bure Valley Railway, where you can experience a nostalgic trip by steam running between the historic market town of Aylsham and the bustling town of Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads.
Along the line are wayside halts serving the picturesque Broadland villages of Brampton, Buxton and Coltishall, where you can hop off and explore on foot, then wave down the driver to stop, and hop back on to continue your journey.
Rivers Rest has its own private drive and enclosed garden, and neighbours the owners’ home and their exclusive luxury camping site with three bell tents. The owners are on hand to offer assistance and helplful advice, if asked or required.
Close by is the beautiful 13th-century church of St Michael, as well as historic Grade II* Oxnead Hall with its 15 acres of manicured gardens and lake, a popular luxury wedding venue and host to open garden days. Rivers Rest is also within easy reach of Norwich, the coast and the famous Norfolk Broads. Norfolk’s coastline, with soft sandy beaches, is readily accessible, with the traditional seaside resorts of Cromer, 13 miles, and Sheringham, 17 miles, as well as coastal paths for bracing walks.
Many National Trust properties also abound in the area, and there is an RSPB bird reserve and salt marsh reserve 20 miles away. Blakeney Quay is 21 miles, with its picturesque quay, Blakeney Point (National Trust), coastal path and boat trips to visit the basking seal colony. The Royal Sandringham Estate is 40 miles, and the city of Norwich, 9 miles, has what is considered to be one of England’s finest shopping centres, as well as its cathedral, castle museum, market square, art galleries, theatre, cafés and restaurants. Wroxham is 8 miles for daily boat hire, river trips, waterside cafés, restaurants and shops. Beach 13 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
