A traditional Gentleman’s residence, this grand three storey detached holiday home is well presented, offering an ideal base for a family holiday or short break with friends. Set upon the hillside overlooking the Derwent Valley, it is the perfect location to enjoy walks and cycling from the doorstep into the surrounding countryside and is just a short drive from the historic town centre of Belper.

The 5-bedroom property is well equipped to accommodate many guests. The spacious farmhouse style kitchen with a large Lacanche range, American style fridge freezer and log burner offers guests a chance to gather around the table. A charming breakfast room off the kitchen is a quiet spot to enjoy your morning coffee whilst admiring the views. The cosy living room with large ornate stone carved fireplace and log burner is the perfect spot to relax and reflect after a day exploring all the area has to offer.

For those of you wanting a surprise, look no further. Down the stairs from the first floor, the property hides an enormous vaulted under croft with a games room, housing a full-size snooker table, wine cellar and lower entrance hall, leading out onto the courtyard seating area.

Hot tub hire (subject to availability) can be arranged with the owner at an additional cost. You will find an enclosed terrace at the front of the house, another sunny seating area with a former billiard table providing the vast outdoor table, and pizzas can be cooked in the outdoor pizza oven. A grassed orchard with established fruit trees completes the outdoor space. A dog wash and towels are available to clean those muddy paws, and ample off street parking is provided.

Within a few minutes walking distance is the local village pub serving fine cask ales and food. The market town of Belper stands at the heart of the Derwent Valley which was granted World Heritage Site status in 2001. The Derwent Valley Visitor Centre located within the Strutt’s North Mill gives visitors the chance to see inside the mill, cotton spinning, and discover more about the town’s history and the industrial revolution.

Belper River Gardens offers visitors a tranquil setting to view the River Derwent and is located adjacent the Strutt’s historic North Mill and dominant red bricked East Mill. The industrial-inspired children’s play area and café are open all year, whilst in the summer months, rowing boat hire, and brass bands playing in the bandstand can be enjoyed.
