Outside the back door is a seating area which is perfectly placed to enjoy the fantastic views of Lake Windermere. Back inside the property there is a well-appointed modern kitchen, dining area and a cosy sofa to cuddle up on. The bedroom is a good size with a double bed and the accommodation is completed with a smart bathroom with walk in shower. This cottage is ideally located, a 10-minute walk finds you in the centre of the beautiful, historic town of Ambleside, it is one of the most popular towns in the Lake District and boasts a wide selection of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and not 1 but 2 cinemas.

Motor and rowing boats are available if you wish to take to the water. There is a huge raft of outdoor adventure activities available around Ambleside and Windermere lake ranging from abseiling and climbing to bushcraft and sailing. If you prefer less energetic pursuits, then just a short walk from Ambleside is the National Trust owned Stagshaw Gardens.

Covering about 8 acres, the gardens have a fine collections of rhododendrons and azaleas and ericaceous trees and shrubs or the impressive Stock Ghyll Force, a spectacular 70 foot waterfall which may be viewed safely from a railed viewpoint and also a amazing view of the Roman fort is visible at the bottom of the garden. The Armitt Museum is a purpose-built home for a collection of books, manuscripts, water-colours, archaeological remains, geological specimens and assorted paraphernalia.
