Extra Amenities

So close to the lake you can almost touch it, Kingston is located in the Waterhead area of Ambleside, and is just a few strides away from the longest lake in the Lake District. Formally the owner’s family home, this has been lovingly refurbished over three floors, and has spacious accommodation for a relaxing family break.
The lower ground floor features a family living area, with comfy sofas to sit back and catch up with good conversation or a movie together. The adjacent kitchen has everything you could need to cook up a hearty meal, but with nearby restaurants within walking distance you could easily be tempted to eat out.

Over the ground and first floors are four double bedrooms with a family bathroom on each floor too. Outside to the rear is a private courtyard with seating area and boot room, and with a toilet in the outbuilding opposite, its ideal for those evenings spent dining al-fresco.
Just a few minutes’ walk away is the Waterhead Pier. Catch one of the steamers to explore the lake, or jump off at nearby Bowness. For a fun-filled day out, halfway down Windermere is Lakeside, where you can catch the Lakeside and Haverside Steam Railway journeying along the contrasting lake and river scenes.

Ambleside itself is a popular tourist spot with numerous cafes, restaurants and shops. It is a popular destination for walkers and climbers, with many stunning walks available from the front door. Make sure to visit the spectacular Stock Ghyll Force, a 70-foot waterfall, or the famous Bridge House. Hayes Garden World is an excellent all weather attraction, with an outside terraced tea room overlooking the surrounding fells, and be sure to check their events calendar for something for all the family to enjoy. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
